Our Labour Law team, Tom Waller, Bob Waller, Shelley Joyce, Perry Erhardt, Christine Hansen-Chad and Matthew Park have extensive experience representing both management and union clients in various labour relations matters. Starting with the initial application for union certification, we can provide assistance with respect to the process prescribed by The Trade Union Act. Our team also has extensive knowledge in terms of filing and defending unfair labour practice complaints before the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board.
Clients have relied on our Labour Law team for advice and direct involvement with the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
We regularly provide legal advice to clients in unionized workplaces regarding collective agreement application and interpretation, including assisting clients with both drafting grievances and responding to grievances as required by the collective agreement in issue.
Where grievances involving labour relations issues are referred to the arbitration process for resolution, our Labour Law team members have experience representing clients in arbitration hearings. Our lawyers also have extensive experience representing clients at the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal when judicial review applications have been filed following an arbitration decision.
We have also provided advice and counsel to clients involved in union-management disputes where job action (strike or lockout) is initially being contemplated, and after such job action is taken.
Please contact any member of our Labour Law team if we can assist you with any labour relations matters.
