Wilson is a founding partner of Olive Waller Zinkhan & Waller LLP, formed in 1977. Wil was raised on a farm near Wolseley, Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he graduated from the College of Law in 1971 after completing his undergraduate degree in 1968. Wil was admitted to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in 1972 and was appointed to be Queen's Counsel in 1991.

Wil is a former Bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and is a member of the Canadian and Regina Bar Associations. He is past Chair of the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences (SIAST), past-Chair of the Capital Campaign Committee for the Regina Food Bank and past-Chair of Regina Regional Economic Development Authority (RREDA). Wil is also a past director of the Canadian Cancer Society (Regina).

Wilson leads the firm's corporate/commercial and securities law team and is involved with the management of the firm as a member of the core management team. Wil provides legal counsel to a number of venture capital funds in Saskatchewan and is involved in establishing legal frameworks for management buyouts, commercial financing, succession planning and corporate restructuring. His practice primarily focuses on corporate/commercial and securities law, commercial financing and transactions.
