Pat began practising law with Olive Waller Zinkhan & Waller LLP in 1988 and joined the partnership in 1993. Pat was raised near Melfort, Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan. She obtained her law degree, with distinction, in 1987 and subsequently served as law clerk to the Chief Justice of Saskatchewan at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. Pat was admitted to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in 1988.

Pat is a member of the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan, an organization established under The Legal Profession Act, 1990 for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a fund to be used for legal education and research, legal aid, law libraries and law reform. Pat served as Chair of the Board of Directors of SaskPower from 2004 - 2008. She previously served as Vice-Chair of that Board for a period of 2 years and Chair of the Governance Committee for 4 years. Pat has also sat on the Board of Directors of Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan Inc. and remains a long time member of that organization. She is Past President of the Boards of Directors of Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger (REACH) and Youth Unlimited of Regina. She has also previously served as a part-time member of the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Assessment Appeals Committee. In 2005, she was recognized by Saskatchewan Business Magazine as one of Saskatchewan's most influential women.

Pat is a member of the Canadian and Regina Bar Associations and is Past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch, Business Law South section. She has presented to Saskatchewan lawyers through the Saskatchewan Legal Education Society and has lectured at the Saskatchewan Bar Admission course on numerous occasions.

Pat practises with the firm's credit union, employment, insolvency and debtor/creditor law teams. Her practice primarily focuses on credit unions and includes drafting periodic Lending Information Bulletins for distribution throughout the Saskatchewan credit union system and co-authoring both the Credit Union Lending Security Guide and the Credit Union Account Opening and Deposit Documentation Manual. She advises individual credit unions and SaskCentral on a variety of issues. She facilitates various credit union training courses including the Lending Security Guide and the Law course as well as the Deposit Services course. In addition, she has lectured on many facets of banking law, including lending, enforcement, privacy, money laundering and numerous other loan and deposit related issues. Pat's practice also includes commercial financing and real estate.
